Here are two sample calls, the ‘long’ call and the ‘short call’. (Quality is not brilliant as done quickly on my phone)
They need to be recorded in the manner you would be operating as much as possible. I like to crack on wam bam thank you maam, next when I am operating so my CQ call does not want to be leisurely like I have my feet up watching TV. I’ve worked stations where their CQ caller is like a quater of the tempo the real person coming back to my call is running at.
Content wise I would suggest along these lines. I tend not to use Golf as it’s not the most striking syllable, so I use George and Germany:
“CQ contest, George 3 yankee delta delta portable, Germany 3 yankee delta delta portable contest”
And for the short call perhaps just:
“QRZ contest, George 3 yankee delta delta portable”
Notice the CQ in the long call and the QRZ in the short call are very unclear. I wouldn’t use these live.
